Operation Thank You will hold a special card signing for our troops, veterans, wounded warriors, and military family before and after “Military Service: Keeping Faith and Finding Hope” community film screening series at Lutheran Southern Theological Seminary.
This event is a great opportunity to explore some of the challenges, opportunities, and realities faced by soldiers returning from war, and discover ways that the faith community can be a source of support and healing.

Honor our troops, veterans, and wounded warriors during the Memorial Day Weekend Remembrance at Dutch Square Center Mall. Take a moment to visit the Operation Thank You tables in the Food Court area at Dutch Square Centre Mall to sign a free “thank you” card for our troops and veterans as well as a “get well” card for our wounded warriors. Inspire America’s bravest men and women in the Armed Forces during the Lexington County Peach Festival by visiting the red Operation Thank You tents to sign a free “thank you” card for our troops and veterans as well as a “get well” card for our wounded warriors. You can easily spot our red tents on the right side of Rikard Circle near the side parking lot entrance of Gilbert United Methodist Church.
The festival takes place in the Gilbert Community Park which is located on Rikard Circle behind Gilbert United Methodist Church and between Gilbert Primary and Gilbert Middle Schools.

Kid’s Day offers educational awareness for families in a fun way. Operation Thank You provides thousands of children with an opportunity to make thank you cards for our troops. Kids learn the importance of saying “thanks” to our troops and first responders by participating with Operation Thank You. Kid’s Day is held in Virginia Hylton Park behind the Lexington Police Dept and across from Lexington Town Hall.

Local non-profit group sets goal to sign 3,000 cards for troops during 3-day event at Columbia-area movie theater
Operation Thank You will have a tent setup inside the AMC Dutch Square 14 lobby Friday 5pm through Monday 5pm, May 26th-29th, giving moviegoers an opportunity to write a message of support and encouragement on cards that will be delivered to deployed service members, veterans, wounded warriors, and military families.
The 7th annual card-signing event at the AMC Dutch Square 14 is part of an ongoing effort of Operation Thank You to collect 100,000 cards each year to inspire America’s bravest men and women. McEntire Joint National Guard Base Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel Brian Bohlman and his wife, Shelley, founded the non-profit organization in 2002 and lead a team of dedicated volunteers that help collect signed cards at various events around the Midlands.
Chaplain Bohlman says, “As we prepare for the Memorial Day holiday, it is important to pause and remember the service and sacrifice of our troops overseas and those recovering in a military hospital. Writing a personal message of encouragement on a card only takes a minute, but could encourage a military member for a lifetime, as these cards often become treasured keepsakes for service members, veterans and their families.”
While serving at a combat trauma hospital in Afghanistan in 2012, Chaplain Bohlman says he will never forget the wounded warriors who told him that receiving a card was the best “medicine” they had ever received. Bohlman hopes that many people will come out during the holiday weekend to help Operation Thank You meet their goal.

While attending the SC State Fair please stop by the ABC Columbia (WOLO) TV Station tent in front of the Ellison Building to support Operation Thank You and sign a card for our troops and first responders. All cards will be sent in care packages to troops serving overseas and our first responders in South Carolina.
